In the event that you are experiencing a dental emergency call our Oakton, VA dentist office right away. A dental emergency is any situation where you feel intense oral pain, discomfort or have lost or broken a tooth, dental restoration or filing.

In the event of a real emergency, contact 911.

Dental emergencies include:
  • Intense pain or swelling in the face or mouth

  • Lost or knocked out tooth

  • Broken or missing dental filling

If a tooth becomes knocked out it is important to contact our Oakton, VA dentist office as soon as possible.

Try to locate the tooth, you may pick it up, but only by the crown.

Try not to touch, scrub or remove any attached root structure.

You can gently rinse the tooth in water and then place it in a cup of your own saliva or milk.

You can also rinse your mouth out, and apply a gentle compress to stop the bleeding.

Bring the tooth with you to your dentist appointment. Dr. Ahrabi will try to see you as soon as he can.

If a dental crown, filling or other dental restoration is broken, NEVER try to reattach it yourself.
